Systems Administrator / Help Desk Support

Provide Help Desk Support for both on-site and off-site staff and provide staff training on all the Foundation’s technology resources. Achieves IT operational objectives by maintaining current systems; evaluating, recommending, testing and installing new technologies; contributing information and specific recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.

Skills and experiences required:
• College Degree Preferred;
• 2-3 years of experience;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 & 2010 applications;
• Knowledge of Windows 98, XP, 2000, Vista, Windows 7 32 and 64 bits;
• Basic networking, including Client/Server and Peer to Peer networks;
• Experience creating Partitions;
• Computer Imaging;
• Experience with motherboards;
• Network connection troubleshooting;
• Knowledge of Security+ , Network +, A+;
• Helpdesk support;
• Basic Knowledge of VMware;
• Basic Encryption Software Knowledge;
• Basic Understanding Microsoft SQL Server 2008;
• Experience with Server Backups;
• Introductory level HTML coding;
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate internally with end-users of varying abilities; as well as externally with vendors and service providers.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
• A passion an willingness to learn additional applications and new technologies as needed.

Other responsibilities include:

• Creating, changing, and deleting user accounts per request;
• Performing regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions;
• Executing daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary;
• Providing on-call support for our program staff during all program hours;
• Maintaining inventory and assist with purchase of new computers and/or equipment;
• Applying OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary;
• Contributing to and maintain system standards;
• Installing new mail servers, create secure wi-fi hotspots, and upgrade systems to VoIP phone systems;
• Building and updating web designs as needed;
• Performing staff training on the Foundation’s technology resources;
• Network Troubleshooting;
• iPhone, Blackberry, Android, & Smart Phone troubleshooting & setups;
• Fax server knowledge including setting up and deleting user accounts;
• Microsoft’s Active Directory Maintenance;
• Re-Imaging computers, installing Hard drives & RAM/Memory;
• Determining IT infrastructure requirements by analyzing needs/trends; prioritizes projects; develops and implements documentation requirements; follows process and change management controls and manages all aspects of problem resolution;
• Providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; maintains LAN user documentation; analyzes and troubleshoots network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems;
• Monitors server and network usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; ensures patches and software updates are completed according to published schedules;
• Performs scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support, and specialized training;
• Provides E-mail/Internet/ Systems Support; establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail training and software support; manages anti-spam and anti-virus servers; researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network; and
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

I don't see this posting listed on the website. I was actually looking on the website to see if there are other positions as this one isn't a fit for me. Can you point me to your listing of current positions? The only position I saw was "Educational Sales Rep" which is also not a position for me.

We haven't posted this position externally yet... it's from an internal posting that invited us to network it to our friends and colleagues as well.

As far as I know, there are no other open positions except those mentioned on the website.
