or, across the ferny brae with the evil voodoo celt

I was out for a walk after lunch today. The fog was no longer at pea-soup strength, but very much there; it was especially thick away south, downriver. Wilson Bridge was still completely invisible. They had a piledriver or some such going at the bridge construction site- it was producing a rhythmic clanging that was almost musical, like someone ringing a harsh bell.

For various reasons (including minor sleep-dep and my just finishing the "Siege of Minas Tirith" segment of my annual re-reading of LOTR), this struck me as theatrically ominous, to the point of being amusing.

Just thought I'd share...

Ahh I've started on my annual re-reading but I'm still back in the Shire ;)

The fog may be my fault, too - I had split pea soup for lunch..

I love to take walks in the Fog... it's one of my favorite things to do. Sadly, this time of year I am chained to my desk... and not in a good way.

Enjoy the fog for me!
