On deities and starting out
Found this via Galina's blog - Interesting article about the choices and mistakes some Pagans make when approaching deities... and some guidance about it, too.

In short:

- All deities have multiple aspects; in general, even the scariest ones have their gentle aspects, even the gentlest ones have their scary aspects.

- Remember that the concepts of "scary" and "gentle" (or whatever words for aspects that you want to use) are human ones, and emanate from a limited view of a larger whole.

- Deities choose the aspect they use to interact with you, and not vice versa. You can always ask for a specific aspect, but you may not always get it.

Incidentally, I am contemplating starting a blog for my more religious/spiritual/mystical poetry and prose (I need to chose a title first ;-)... I'll let people know when(if) that debuts...
