So, I get tattoos to represent our pets. We've had Mr. Mungo Dogfin for over a year now, and it was time.

I kicked a design around a bit with Captain Gordon, and today I got it done.

Mungo in all his glory:

A bit of the La Tene style scrollwork- it goes all the way 'round... ouch:

It went quite well... the Captain elaborated my simpler plans (as he's wont to do), which means I was there for a while... a slice of the "day in the life of a tattoo parlor" as it were- very interesting and amusing.

I very much like it. Very Book of Kells-ish!

I love what the artists of that time did with things like that.

Thanks! He did a great job.

I love the stylized animals as you've chosen to do them.

It always amazes me what the Irish monastic artists could do with things like that- there's a love of the natural world and a great sense of humor in a lot of their stuff...

Mr. Dogfin has never looked more stylish! Very lovely, my dear!

Thanks! The Captain excels as usual!

I just need to keep Mungo from licking it until well after it's healed. ;-)
