Whiskies of note

For zammis, and anyone else who's interested, some of the more notable whiskies from this year's Single Malt Scotch and Whisky Extravaganza:

Aberlour 16 - very soft and smooth
Bowmore 15 - a "full breakfast" whisky... everything from the pancakes to the coffee... complex, with a good balance of sweet and peat
Dalmore 18 - all the good qualities of the Dalmore Cigar Malt, but even better, with a rewarding complexity
Dewar's 18 Founder's Reserve- very good for a blend; sweet, smooth and nutty
"Double Barrel" - a blend of Bowmore and Highland Park; nice balance of the Islay peatiness and the Orkney sweetness
Glen Garioch 12 - light, floral, heather honey notes
Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX - full flavored with a sweet finish like honey drops
Glenrothes Vintage 1985 - deep, dark, with a baking spices aroma and taste
Laphroaig 18 - you really have to like the smoke for this, but it's smooth, smooth, smooth...

Of course, finding any of these may be a quest in and of itself...
