Christmas Day itself was spent with her sister, BIL, and the nieces. A jolly low-stress time was had by all. We watched The Hangover, which was actually hilarious (although Zack Galifianakis' character was downright creepy at times) and just generally relaxed (and watched the nieces dig into the enormous pile of books and Mexico souvenirs we gave them). Judy-dog was very good and got plenty of praise and pettins.
When we got back to M and SL's place, I checked the weather, then turned to monsteralice and said "We have to leave." Yeah, I know it was a big washout here, but they were predicting heavy snow by daybreak up there, and I did not want to drive in that. M and SL were regretful but understanding. We loaded up and drove home (another smooth ride).
And as much as I love M and SL, it was nice having a quiet day to ourselves yesterday... it's going to be an atypically busy week at work (we're moving offices, getting a new phone system, and doing a cloud migration on most of our systems). I made pancakes, and we just basically lolled about for most of the day.
Hope everyone is having a peaceful and happy holiday!
