1. You could get the truth to one single question, what would that question be?

"What is my Bliss/True Will?"

2. Have you ever had a profound religous experience? Describe...

The first really profound one I had was what I'd call my "agnostic epiphany", as described in my answer to question 3 here. A more recent one would be in New Orleans in 2003, as described here and here.

3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I've been actually starting to work on that as an experiment in active visualization. What I'm trying for: published author; living with monsteralice at Oak Hollow (our cabin in WV).

4. Where and when in history would you have liked to live?

Hmm. Right now has the best healthcare living conditions; although I love America, I could probably be convinced to do the expat thing in Ireland or New Zealand. If I had to relocate to a past time and place, it would probably be something like medieval Japan or 7th century Ireland- some place with an advanced literary culture and good personal hygiene habits. ;-)

5. Who do you relate too in Tolkien's LOTR series? Who could you see yourself being?

Gandalf was my first affinity, because I like the magic thing. But he's essentially an angel, and hard to relate to eventually. The second choice is most definitely Elrond. He knows a lot of things, he's a healer, he's got a long perspective, he's a bridge between the Elves and Men. And he gets to sail to the West at the end.

1. What is it you're a minister *of* exactly? Or to put it another way, how do you define it?

Hm, another toughie. I define "ministry" as "tending to the needs of a congregation." In my case, the congregation would be those folks in our "tribe of choice" who feel that their beliefs are in harmony enough with mine, and the things I do include counseling, comforting, performing ceremonies that mark the important events in the year and/or in people's lives… Many of my friends and acquaintances seem to have recognized in me qualities that make me a good minister for them. My beliefs are a much more complex matter. I am a wildly eclectic polytheistic heathen (I like that word better than pagan, and no matter how much the Norse reconstructionists try, they can't make it mean just them ;-), but as Lord Summerisle says, "hopefully not an unenlightened one." . There are strong Celtic influences on my path, a lot of Vodoun, a fair amount of Germanic/Nordic, and a smattering of other influences too numerous to mention. mosnteralice and ravenrose (the three of us have a lot of commonality on our paths) have dubbed what we share "Celtic Voodoo", only partially humorously. I had some training in "Eclectic" Wicca (Starhawk's brand), but I have moved away from that; I have yet to find any one path that fits me as well as the one that I am helping to create.

2. Have you ever considered putting your poetry together to publish?

Yes, and as a matter of fact I've submitted my poetry to a number of magazines of various sorts, with no results so far. I don't think my style is popular right now. I'm more focused on getting my novel in shape to shop around right now, but I may one day look into it again. Book publication, if it ever happens, will almost certainly be via Xlibris or some such- poetry publishing is such an incestuous game these days, and mainly limited to academia who review each other's works.

I have self-published a few of my poems in booklet form. Interested? Drop me an email and I'll bring 'em to some event we're both at sometime.

3. You wake up one morning, and it seems like just about any other morning, except you discover through the course of the day that ketchup doesn't exist, never did. And then you realize that you really can't remember when Monsteralice got that new haircut. That night you see a dimensional vortex in your basement....do you go through, or stay?

I'd have to try to get home. I'd try to make sure that wasn't home already, and the changes were a side effect of making the dimensional vortex possible. If I could figure that out, though. I mean, I'm not very fond of ketchup, but I want my own monsteralice. And what if I was just gone in my home dimension? I couldn't just leave her alone...

4. You just won a $1000 shopping spree at Walmart! Whatcha gonna buy?

Is it one of the ones that sells guns? If not, probably mostly LARP-related stuff for me. I honestly haven't been to a Wal-Mart in a long time. I'd definitely buy something cool for the house and the cabin and gifts for monsteralice.

5. What do you think is the *best* thing the Bush administration has done?

Probably dropping the hammer on the Afghan Al-Qaeda bases and their Taliban protectors. Sure, some of the people working for the admin are the same folks partially responsible for creating those monsters, but at least they came down hard and fast.

1. Why, in your opinion, have you become one of the "spiritual advisors" in our community?

I'm still puzzling over that myself. I'm a good listener, and I practice discretion. I try to be compassionate and non-judgmental but still tell the truth where I see it, and be honest when I'm merely giving my opinion. I don't pretend to any special knowledge or connection. I'm not in it for my ego or anything other than helping people.

2. Will, one day, the details of the "Bonnie situation" be revealed?

When deboranter and I can schedule a situation where I can consume enough tequila to get into the proper nasty state and not have to drive home.

3. Are you having a good time in 1948:Signals?

Yes. The fun far outweighs the occasional frustration. Of course, I've been asked before if there's ever a game I played that I didn't enjoy (there were several), to the point where I wonder whether the_smith_e thinks I'm a poster child for his theories about players being responsible for almost all of their own fun (he's being IMO too absolutist on the matter)... But I frontloaded Archie with things I knew I'd enjoy, and made sure he had plenty of pre-existing and potential connections to other players. I'm almost always busy, but I'm rarely bored.

4. What's your criteria for new ink? Is there a waiting period?

I like to get about 3 a year. I have no problem finding ideas. A few weeks before the event, I start trying to bring my idea into reality. When I get something I like, I think about it for a while, and get other opinions (monsteralice is my aesthetics brain for this kind of thing). But there's no hard and fast waiting period, and I can see getting more a year if there is some kind of impetus.

5. Monkey?

Less talk, more monkey!
