A wonderful, thought-provoking, and engaging article on the rewards and pitfalls of exploring ancient and medieval Irish texts for use in modern (recon or revival) Celtic Paganism:

What is Gentlidecht?

Do you know how Caoimhín is pronounced? I asked another friend of mine who is familiar with Irish Gaelic. The same name in Latin is Coemgenus and I have no idea how to pronounce that either. I don't yet understand English-IPA.

Approximately "kwee-veen". It's what eventually became "Kevin".

I don't know how to pronounce the Latin either. Nor do I understand English-IPA.

Kwee as is you were starting to say Queen and left off the "n" and veen as in the beginning of the word Wiener Schnitzel?

Do you know anyone who might be able to pronounce the Latin version?
