There's some wisdom in the above article... and I think it can be applied to matters outside of living sustainably, too. "Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself."

Yes. It's way too easy to take on the burden of someone else's "should" and to keep adding more until the collected guilt is all you have.

I got a good lesson from cognitive therapy: Live in a world made of your own conscious choices, not trying (and mostly failing) to perfectly adhere to someone else's script. It's harder but mentally healthier to to that.

When I finally got it that I was responsible for my own well-being, a lot of the -ism, -arian, and -ology labels became not only irrelevant but often oppressive.
